Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa is a culmination of the joining together of Girl Scouts of Lakota Council, Girl Scouts of Moingona Council, Girl Scout Council of North Iowa, Nishnabotna Girl Scout Council and Sioux Trails Girl Scout Council.  This historic transformation is part of a Girl Scout of the USA initiative to form high-performance, community-based councils across the country
