Camp Sacajawea Open House: May 16, 3 - 7 pm
Each of the three camps offers unique, fun, safe, indoor and outdoor experiences. We invite you to feel the magic of camp at one or more of our Open Houses. You will be delighted to see where you eat dinner, sleep, ride horses, swim, canoe, get a bandage from the nurse and more.

Camp Sacajawea is located about 6 1/2 miles northwest of Boone on over 400 acres of wooded ravines and plateaus bordering the Des Moines River. The crystal clear blue water in the large swimming pool is a nice refresher on Iowa's hot humid summer days. Newly remodeled shower facilities for both sexes adjoins the pool. All buildings at Camp Sacajawea are handicap accessible.

The American Camp Association has deemed Camp Sacajawea as an accredited camp. The resident camp season runs from early June to mid August. For more information about attending camp or employment with Camp Sacajawea please contact the Resident Camp Director at the Girl Scout Service Center. Click here for directions to Camp Sacajawea.

NEW!  We have opened up two additional Slumber Party sessions at Camp Sacajawea this summer!   This session has been enormously popular, so sessions have been added on the following dates:
June 13-15 and 16-18.

Here is the camp description:  You are invited to a slumber party!  Decorate your cabin, have a dance party, play games, and even have a movie night complete with popcorn.  Between all of that, you'll get in the water, get creative at arts and crafts, and cook out over the campfire.  Grab your friends and your favorite pajamas - it's slumber party time!
