Operation Treats for Troops

We have an opportunity as a special collaboration between Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa and soldiers in our local area of Iowa, South Dakota and Nebraska.  This initiative, called Operation Treats for Troops, is a service project that is part of this year’s cookie program at Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa.  It is designed to give girls a chance to support local troops by selling cookies specifically to donate to soldiers preparing to deploy, already deployed overseas or returning from deployment.  It is also part of our desire as Girl Scouts to support our communities and live out our mission.   

Through this initiative, soldiers receive support from home and a portion of each sale’s profit will be given directly to you as local Girl Scouts.   Consider taking part in this service project that will not only help support our local Iowa Soldiers, but, will help girl’s booth sales and achieving their goals as well!

Who will be shipping/delivering the cookies?
Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa is working with the military and the cookie company to make this happen and we will manage the shipping/delivery.  At the end of booth sales we will recap the total number of cases sold and send them to the troops.
 
What is our goal for this program?
Our goal is to ship 5,000+ cases of cookies to our troops.
